Die Fahrt \u00fcber Bad Ischl und Die\u00dfen am Ammersee ist glatt und ruhig verlaufen. W\u00e4hrend Hanna das Gep\u00e4ck verstaut und den Salon in Ordnung bringt, versuchen Matthias und ich, den neuen Anker doch in das alte Ankergeschirr einzupassen. Das funktioniert allerdings nicht, wir k\u00f6nnen aber recht gut erkennen, was es braucht. Die Halterung muss um ca. 20 cm verl\u00e4ngert werden, dann sollte es klappen. Der Aufwand ist vertretbar.<\/p>

Inzwischen hat Hanna bemerkt, dass die gewaschenen Polster\u00fcberz\u00fcge nicht zu finden sind. Ich bin mir sicher, dass wir sie im Herbst an Bord gebracht haben, aber sie sind nicht da. Noch machen wir uns keine Sorgen.<\/p>

Weil wir noch Zeit haben bis zum Krantermin, wollen Matthias und ich die Segel noch anschlagen. Da f\u00e4llt mir auf, dass ich im Vorschiff nur die Persenning f\u00fcr die „Lazy bags“ gesehen habe, nicht aber die f\u00fcr die Sprayhood… Verdammt! Die habe ich ja im Herbst mit nach Wien genommen, weil sie vom Regen ganz nass war und wir sie so nicht an Bord lassen wollten. Ich habe sie dann gleich im Badezimmer getrocknet und anschlie\u00dfend „gut“ verstaut – und vergessen! Die Nordsee im Fr\u00fchjahr ohne Schutz vor Wind und Gischt, das wird nicht lustig.<\/p>

Dann kam endlich der Tag vor der Abreise und wir machen uns langsam segelfertig. Irgendwann fragt Hanna: „Wo sind eigentlich die Rettungswesten, ich dachte, wir haben drei St\u00fcck an Bord?“ – Wir beginnen fieberhaft zu suchen und finden sie nicht! Keine Sprayhood, keine Rettungswesten, so k\u00f6nnen wir nicht fahren.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The trip via Bad Ischl and Die\u00dfen am Ammersee has been smooth and quiet. While Hanna stows the luggage and puts the saloon in order, Matthias and I try to fit the new anchor into the old anchor fitting after all. It doesn’t work though, but we can see quite well what it takes. The bracket has to be extended by about 20 cm, then it should work. The effort is manageable.<\/p>

In the meantime, Hanna has noticed that the washed cushion covers are nowhere to be found. I’m sure we brought them on board in the autumn, but they’re not there. We’re not worried yet.<\/p>

Because we still have time before the crane appointment, Matthias and I want to hoist the sails. Then I notice that I have only seen the tarpaulin for the „lazy bags“ in the foredeck, but not the one for the sprayhood… Damn! I took it with me to Vienna in autumn because it was wet from the rain, and we didn’t want to leave it on board like that. I dried it in the bathroom and then stowed it away „well“ – and forgot about it! The North Sea in spring without protection from wind and spray, that won’t be fun.<\/p>

Then the day before departure finally arrived and we slowly get ready to sail. At some point, Hanna asks, „Where are the life jackets anyway, I thought we had three on board?“ – We begin to search feverishly and can’t find them! No sprayhood, no lifejackets, we can’t sail like this.<\/p>

Wir rufen Livia an, die ja am 28. April an Bord kommen wird. Wenn sie die Sprayhood und die Westen findet, kann sie sie mitnehmen, sie hat ja noch 23 kg Freigep\u00e4ck bei ihrem Flug. Aber auch das ist vergeblich, alle Pl\u00e4tze, an denen wir denken, dass die Sachen verstaut sein k\u00f6nnten, stellen sich als Irrtum heraus. Die Dinge bleiben verschwunden – auch wenn wir uns das nicht erkl\u00e4ren k\u00f6nnen.<\/p>

Schlie\u00dflich beschlie\u00dfen wir, jetzt gleich zwei neue Rettungswesten zu kaufen und uns im Cockpit warm anzuziehen. Morgen fahren wir los, obwohl die 5 bis 6 Windst\u00e4rken bei 12\u00b0 C eine Herausforderung sein werden. Die erste Strecke werden wir auch am Wind fahren m\u00fcssen, sodass mit einigem Spritzwasser gerechnet werden muss.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

We call Livia, who will be coming on board on 28 April. If she finds the sprayhood and the safety vests, she can take them with her, as she still has 23 kg of free luggage on her flight. But even that is in vain, all the places where we think the items might be stowed turn out to be a mistake. The things remain missing – even though we have no explanation.<\/p>

Finally, we decide to buy two new life jackets right now and dress warmly in the cockpit. Tomorrow we set off, although the 5 to 6 wind forces at 12\u00b0 C will be a challenge. Mit dreifach gerefften Segeln starten wir die Fahrt. Obwohl wir am Luv-Ufer des IJsselmeers entlang segeln, wirft der Wind eine steile, kurze, sehr unangenehme See auf. Immer wieder kommt Wasser \u00fcber – und keine Sprayhood, die uns sch\u00fctzt. Nach wenigen Minuten merken wir, dass das Boot sehr leegierig ist, aber auch eine weitere Verkleinerung der Genua bringt keine Besserung. Wir sind einfach zu langsam mit diesen Segeln, sodass der Wind immer wieder den Bug nach Lee dr\u00fcckt. Wir starten den Motor und reffen das Gro\u00dfsegel auf das zweite Reff aus. Nun geht es deutlich besser, in den B\u00f6en wird die pepperbird sogar richtig luvgierig.<\/p>

Nach etwa zwei Stunden k\u00f6nnen wir auf Halbwind-Kurs abfallen und kommen flott voran – im Schnitt mit etwa 6 Knoten in diesem Abschnitt. Auch wenn es auf diesem Kurs etwas bequemer wird und wir kaum mehr nass werden, bleibt die Fahrt anstrengend. An der Hafenzufahrt nach Stavoren bergen wir die Segel und fahren die letzten zweieinhalb Seemeilen unter Motor. Trotz der 2.200 Umdrehungen reicht das gegen Wind und Wellen nur f\u00fcr etwa 3 Knoten Fahrt.<\/p>

Um halb vier sind wir in der Au\u00dfenmarina sicher festgemacht und erholen uns von der anstrengenden \u00dcberfahrt.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

With three reefs in both sails, we start the journey. Although we sail along the windward shore of the IJsselmeer, the wind throws up a steep, short, very unpleasant sea. Again and again water comes over – and there’s no spray hood to protect us. After a few minutes, we notice that the boat tends to carry a heavy lee helm, but even a further reduction of the genua does not bring any improvement. We are simply too slow with these sails, so the wind keeps pushing the bow to leeward. We start the engine and reef out the mainsail to the second reef. Now things are much better, and in the gusts the Pepperbird even develops really some weather helm.<\/p>

After about two hours, we can bear off on a beam reach and make rapid progress – averaging about 6 knots in this section. Even though it becomes a bit more comfortable on this course, and we hardly get wet any more, the trip remains exhausting. At the harbour entrance to Stavoren, we take away the sails and go the last two and a half nautical miles under motor. Despite the 2,200 revolutions, this is only enough for about 3 knots of speed against the wind and waves.<\/p>

Morgen ist es noch zu windig, um weiterzufahren, aber am Freitagnachmittag sollte es so weit abgeflaut haben, dass wir das IJsselmeer nach Den Oever \u00fcberqueren wollen. Am Samstag wollen wir dann nach Texel, unserer ersten Watteninsel weiter fahren, wo wir wohl ein paar Tage Pause machen werden – der Wind frischt wieder auf fast Sturmst\u00e4rke auf.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
