Die App Navionics hat die Coenbrug als „fixe“ Br\u00fccke angezeigt, die Alternativroute allerdings als passierbar, wobei die entsprechende Br\u00fccke bereits seit Oktober 2022 nicht mehr \u00f6ffnet. Die Coenbrug wird jedoch vom Wateralmanak 2023 und vom Kartenatlas der Staande Mastroute als bewegliche Br\u00fccke angegeben, obwohl sie das seit 4. Mai 2021 (!) nicht mehr ist.<\/p>

Von den Informationen, die mir zug\u00e4nglich sind und die ich konsultiert habe, gibt es auf der einen Route widerspr\u00fcchliche Angaben, bei der Alternative \u00fcber Nauerna habe ich keine Hinweise, dass etwas nicht stimmen k\u00f6nnte. Bei einigen Br\u00fccken werde ich gefragt, wo wir hinwollten und ich gebe meist zur Antwort, was unser „n\u00e4chstes“ Ziel ist und nicht, wo die Reise letztlich hingehen sollte (bis zur Prins-Claus-Br\u00fccke!). Die Fragen h\u00e4tten mich stutzig machen k\u00f6nnen\/sollen, haben das ab er nicht.<\/p>

Wir passen auf der R\u00fcckfahrt genau auf: Einen Hinweis, dass Boote mit Mast nicht bis zum Nordsee-Kanal fahren k\u00f6nnen, sehen wir auf der ganzen Strecke zwischen West-Knollendam und Den Helder nicht.<\/p>

Auf der langen R\u00fcckfahrt nach Norden, finde ich die Hinweise auf Google, allerdings erst, als ich explizit nach „Nauerna vaart dicht“ suche!<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The Navionics app showed the Coenbrug as a „fixed“ bridge, but the alternative route as passable, although the bridge in question has not been open since October 2022. However, the Coenbrug is indicated as a movable bridge by Wateralmanak 2023 and by the Staande Mastroute map atlas from the same year, although it has not been since 4 May 2021 (!).<\/p>

From the information I have access to and have consulted, there is conflicting information on one route, but on the alternative via Nauerna I have no indication that anything could be wrong. At some bridges I am asked where we were going, and I usually give the answer what our „next“ destination is and not where the journey should ultimately go (up to the Prins Claus Bridge!). The questions could\/should have made me wonder, but they didn’t.<\/p>

We pay close attention on the return journey: the whole way between West Knollendam and Den Helder we don’t see a sign that boats with masts can’t go as far as the North Sea Canal.<\/p>

On the long stretch back north, I find the clues on Google, but only when I explicitly search for „Nauerna vaart dicht“!<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Im Moment sind allerdings alle diese \u00dcberlegungen m\u00fc\u00dfig: Wir m\u00fcssen zur\u00fcck ins Wattenmeer! Um noch am selben Tag so weit wie m\u00f6glich zu kommen – zum Gl\u00fcck ist Wochentag und die Br\u00fccken haben von 06:00 bis 22:00 Uhr Betrieb – kehren wir auf der Stelle um. Am Alkmaardermeer holen wir einen Frachter ein, der Sand geladen hat und dem wir bis nach Schoorldam folgen k\u00f6nnen. Dadurch ersparen wir uns jede Wartezeit an den Br\u00fccken, so ein gro\u00dfes Schiff wird sofort durchgelassen.<\/p>

W\u00e4hrend die Crew das Fahren erledigt, schaue ich mir unsere Optionen an. Zum Gl\u00fcck haben wir noch den Mittwoch als Reserve, den werden wir jetzt auch brauchen. Als weiterer Vorteil stellt sich heraus, dass der Starkwind wohl ausbleiben wird, daf\u00fcr soll es morgen den ganzen Tag regnen (und das tut es dann auch).<\/p>

Wenn wir es heute noch nach Sint Maartens an den Touristensteg schaffen, k\u00f6nnen wir morgen Den Helder erreichen, und wenn wir morgen Fr\u00fch um 06:00 Uhr schon an der ersten Br\u00fccke sind, k\u00f6nnen wir die Flut n\u00fctzen, um noch am Dienstag Den Oever zu erreichen. Die Fahrt nach Lelystad ist von dort in einem Tag
zu schaffen.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

At the moment, however, all these considerations are idle: we have to get back to the Wadden Sea! In order to get as far as possible on the same day – luckily it’s a weekday and the bridges are in operation from 06:00 to 22:00 – we turn back on the spot. At the Alkmaardermeer we catch up with a freighter loaded with sand, which we can follow all the way to Schoorldam. This saves us any waiting time at the bridges, such a large ship is let through immediately.<\/p>

While the crew does the driving, I look at our options. Luckily we still have Wednesday as a reserve, we will need it now. Another advantage is that there won’t be any strong winds, but it’s supposed to rain all day tomorrow (and it does).<\/p>

If we make it to the tourist pier in Sint Maartens today, we can reach Den Helder tomorrow, and if we are already at the first bridge at 06:00 tomorrow morning, we can use the tide to reach Den Oever on Tuesday. \u00dcber den weiteren Verlauf der Reise ist nicht viel zu sagen. Wir kommen schnell voran, weil so gut wie kein Verkehr am Kanal herrscht und die Br\u00fccken rasch ge\u00f6ffnet werden. Auch in der Schleuse von Den Helder sind wir das einzige Boot. Im Fahrwasser nach Den Oever dauert es ein bisschen, bis wir uns bei der schlechten Sicht orientiert haben, aber dann folgen wir den Tonnenstrichen der Fahrwasser „Malzwin“ und „Visjagersgat“ bis wir in den Waddenhaven Den Oever einlaufen.<\/p>

Wir kommen durchn\u00e4sst und durchfroren an, haben aber noch Zeit, beim einzigen Supermarkt neue Vorr\u00e4te zu besorgen. Wegen der \u00fcberhasteten Umkehr und der knappen Zeit, bis die Br\u00fccken schlie\u00dfen, haben wir gestern nur mehr in Schooldam kurz Halt machen k\u00f6nnen. Baloo muss einmal „raus“ und beim „Hof van Schoorl“ haben wir unsere Trinkwasserflaschen auff\u00fcllen k\u00f6nnen.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

There is not much to say about the rest of the journey. We make fast progress because there is almost no traffic on the canal and the bridges are opened quickly. We are also the only boat in the lock at Den Helder. In the fairway to Den Oever it takes a while to get our bearings in the poor visibility, but then we follow the shipping channels of the fairways „Malzwin“ and „Visjagersgat“ until we enter the Waddenhaven of Den Oever.<\/p>

We arrive soaked and frozen, but still have time to get new supplies at the only supermarket. Because of the hasty turnaround and the short time before the bridges close, we were only able to stop briefly in Schooldam yesterday.
