Wenn wir auch sehr langsam unterwegs sind, wir haben unser Zielland erreicht. Unser eigentliches Ziel ist zwar am anderen Ende des Landes, aber die Gastland-Flagge stimmt schon einmal. Even though we are travelling very slowly, we have reached our destination country. Our actual destination is at the other end of the country, but the right courtesy flag is already flying. Wind- und Wettervorhersage veranlassen uns dazu, die \u00dcberfahrt zu den Diapontischen Inseln in die Nacht von Sonntag auf Montag zu verlegen. Erstens flaut dann der starke Wind vom Nachmittag bereits ab, wir vermeiden die Hitze des Tages und kommen am fr\u00fchen Vormittag in Erikousa an und haben eine gute Chance auf einen Liegeplatz. Der letzte Grund f\u00e4llt allerdings weg, nachdem es m\u00f6glich ist, den Platz im Voraus \u00fcber eine App zu reservieren.<\/p>

Das Nachlassen des Windes wurde f\u00fcr nach 22:00 voraus-gesagt, aber wir sehen schon um 19:00, dass die B\u00f6en schw\u00e4cher werden, daher brechen wir fr\u00fcher auf. Der Wind hat zwar schon nachgelassen, aber die D\u00fcnung (~ 1 m) vom Nachmittag ist noch da und macht die Fahrt zun\u00e4chst etwas unangenehm. Der Wind ist so schwach, dass die Bewegungen durch die Wellen die Segel permanent schlagen lassen. Wir nehmen daher die Genua weg und motoren f\u00fcr fast zwei Stunden, wobei wir das Gro\u00dfsegel zur Stabilisierung stehen lassen.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The wind and weather forecast prompts us to postpone the crossing to the Diapontian Islands until Sunday night\/Monday morning. Firstly, the strong afternoon wind will have died down by then, we will avoid the heat of the day and arrive in Erikousa in the early morning, giving us a good chance of finding a berth. However, the latter reason is no longer valid, as it is now possible to reserve a berth in advance via an app.<\/p>

The wind was forecast to die down after 10:00 p.m., but we can already see at 07:00 p.m. that the gusts are getting weaker, so we set off earlier. Although the wind has died down, the swell (~ 1 m) from the afternoon is still there and makes the journey a little uncomfortable at first. The wind is so weak that the movement of the waves causes the sails to flap constantly. We therefore take down the genoa and motor for almost two hours, leaving the mainsail up for stabilization.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Das Motoren gleich zu Beginn ist ziemlich frustrierend und die Aussicht, dass wir jetzt 12 Stunden durch die Nacht tuckern, wenig erfreulich. Doch nach den zwei Stunden flauen auch die Wellen so weit ab, dass das Segeln bei schwachen 2 Bft wieder m\u00f6glich ist. Die Bewegungen der Yacht sind in der D\u00fcnung zwar noch immer unangenehm, vor allem f\u00fcr die Magennerven, aber wenigstens herrscht Ruhe an Bord. Es stellt sich heraus, dass wir mit dem Raumschot- bis Halbwind-Kurs bis unmittelbar vor unser Ziel segeln k\u00f6nnen. Zwei Stunden motoren und zehn Stunden segeln sind ein gutes Verh\u00e4ltnis.<\/p>

Im Morgengrauen taucht dann Othoni an Steuerbord vor uns auf, aber aufgrund des besseren Hafens fahren wir eine Insel weiter: Erikousa!<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The going under engines right at the start is rather frustrating, and the prospect of chugging through the night for 12 hours is not very appealing. But after two hours, the waves subside enough to allow us to sail again in a light 2 Bft wind. The yacht’s movements are still uncomfortable in the swell, especially for the stomach nerves, but at least it is silent on board. It turns out that we can sail on a broad reach to beam reach course right up to our destination. Two hours of motoring and ten hours of sailing is a good ratio.<\/p>

62,3 Seemeilen lang war die Fahrt. Gestartet sind wir um 19:21, um 8:32 (9:32, griechische Zeit) waren wir mit Heck- und Mooringleinen in Erikousa festgemacht. Das ergibt einen Durchschnitt von 4,7 Knoten, nicht schlecht f\u00fcr die leichte Brise w\u00e4hrend der Nacht.\u00a0<\/p>

Die Insel hier ist gerade einmal 4 km2 gro\u00df, es gibt ein paar verstreute Weiler und ein etwas gr\u00f6\u00dferes Dorf rund um den Hafen, wo sich der Tourismus von Korfu auf einfacherem Niveau fortzusetzen scheint.\u00a0<\/p>

Gestern haben wir eine l\u00e4ngere Wanderung rund um die Insel unternommen, es war warm, aber durch den kr\u00e4ftigen Nordwind nicht unertr\u00e4glich. Als wir zur\u00fcckkamen, bliesen heftige B\u00f6en bis 7 oder 8 Bft in das Hafenbecken, aber Benoit, unser franz\u00f6sischer Nachbar, hatte vorsorglich unser Sonnensegel in Sicherheit gebracht und wir haben noch ein wenig an den Leinen gearbeitet, damit wir das Heck gut von der Mole abhalten konnten. Geschlafen haben wir dann gut.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The trip was 62.3 nautical miles long. We set off at 19:21 p.m. and by 8:32 a.m. (9:32 a.m. Greek time) we were moored in Erikousa with stern and laid mooring lines. That works out to an average speed of 4.7 knots, not bad for the light breeze during the night.<\/p>

The island here is just 4 km2 in size, with a few scattered hamlets and a slightly larger village around the harbour, where tourism from Corfu seems to continue on a more modest level.<\/p>

Yesterday we took a longer hike around the island. It was warm, but not unbearable thanks to the strong north wind. When we returned, strong gusts of up to 7 or 8 Bft were blowing into the harbour basin, but Benoit, our French neighbour, had taken the precaution of securing our sun sail, and we worked a little on the lines so that we could keep the stern well away from the pier.
