Seit 2010 tr\u00e4ume ich davon, seit letzten Sommer k\u00fcndigen wir uns an, jetzt haben wir es geschafft. Mit J\u00fcrgens Hilfe ist die Pepperbird gestern von Kouremenos nach Kato Zakros gefahren. Immer wenn ich mir eine eigene Yacht vorgestellt habe, sah ich sie in dieser Bucht vor Anker liegen, jetzt sitze ich allein im Salon und schreibe an diesem Blog.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

I\u2019ve been dreaming about this since 2010; we\u2019ve been talking about it since last summer, and now we\u2019ve finally done it. With J\u00fcrgen\u2019s help, the Pepperbird sailed from Kouremenos to Kato Zakros yesterday. Whenever I imagined having my own yacht, I pictured it at anchor in this bay; now I\u2019m sitting alone in the cabin writing this blog.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Beinahe w\u00e4re wieder nichts daraus geworden: Livia geht es nicht gut, das Segeln hat ihr nicht gutgetan und alleine im Hotel f\u00fchlt sie sich auch nicht wohl. Also bleibt Hanna bei ihr und ich mache mich auf die Suche nach einem Mitsegler. J\u00fcrgen, der uns schon bei der Bergung des Ankers geholfen hat, muss nicht zweimal gefragt werden. \u00dcbernachten will er zwar an Bord nicht, aber die 10 bis 12 Seemeilen nach Kato Zakros f\u00e4hrt er gerne mit.<\/p>

Es bleibt die Frage: wann? Mittwochabend und Donnerstagmorgen soll es noch regnen, am Freitag sind dann B\u00f6en bis \u00fcber 30 Knoten angesagt, also wird Donnerstag 9:00 als Treffpunkt ausgemacht. Der Regen – nicht einmal unergiebig – ist da schon vorbei, und wir machen uns bereit, die Fahrt anzutreten.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

It almost didn\u2019t work out again: Livia isn\u2019t feeling well; sailing hasn\u2019t done her any good, and she doesn\u2019t feel comfortable on her own in the hotel either. So Hanna is staying with her, and I\u2019m off to look for someone to sail with. J\u00fcrgen, who\u2019s already helped us retrieve the anchor, doesn\u2019t need to be asked twice. He doesn\u2019t want to spend the night on board, but he\u2019s happy to come along for the 10 to 12 nautical miles to Kato Zakros.<\/p>

The question remains: when? It\u2019s due to rain on Wednesday evening and Thursday morning, and on Friday gusts of over 30 knots are forecast, so we agree to meet at 9.00 am on Thursday. The rain \u2013 which wasn\u2019t even particularly light \u2013 has already stopped by then, and we get ready to set off.<\/p><\/div><\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
